The Wyalusing Municipal Authority Board has approved a six percent (6%) adjustment to water and sewer rates and the establishment of capital improvement charges due to increased operating costs and the need to fund system repairs, upgrades, capital improvements, and meter replacements.
At its February 10, 2026, monthly meeting, the Board unanimously approved a rate increase that will take effect with the April 2026 billing cycle.
New Monthly Base Charges per EDU
Water – Base water rate (includes first 4,000 gallons): $32.58 with a capital improvement charge of $2.00
Sewer – Base sewer rate (includes first 4,000 gallons): $48.88 with a capital improvement charge of $2.00
Total monthly base amount for water and sewer per EDU: $85.46
Usage Charges (over 4,000 gallons per month): Water: $0.0082028 per gallon Sewer: $0.01085228 per gallon
The revised base rates include funding for necessary capital improvements, system maintenance, and the continued reliable operation of the Authority’s water and wastewater facilities. Capital improvement charges are dedicated to funding necessary improvements and replacements to the Authority’s water and wastewater systems and are accounted for separately from operating revenues.
The Wyalusing Municipal Authority’s next meetings will be held on March 10th, 2026, and April 14th, 2026, and May 12th, 2026, in the Wyalusing Borough Hall at 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome to come with questions and concerns to address the Board regarding the rate increase and/or other concerns regarding their water and sewer.
